“Most important is the human impact on the network –
internal threats,” says Santilli, citing the importance of corporate
controls and policies. Digital security guru Glen Christopher, who
will speak at the World Council of Credit Unions international conference
next month in Nassau, Bahamas, says that 70 percent of all hacking
activity takes place internally, with employees, contractors or others,
taking advantage of network access to probe for passwords, then misuse
or compromise information.
